6. Estimates, Repair Approval and Additional Work

Where reasonably applicable, Hassonjee Automotives may inspect or diagnose the Vehicle and provide an estimated cost of the proposed repair or Service.

The Customer acknowledges that:

  1. An estimate is based upon the information and condition reasonably ascertainable at the time of inspection;
  2. Hidden, latent or subsequently discovered defects may require additional repairs or replacement of parts;
  3. The actual scope of work may change after dismantling, inspection or diagnosis;
  4. The final cost may vary if additional work, parts or services become reasonably necessary;
  5. Where practicable, we may seek the Customer’s approval before undertaking material additional work; and
  6. Delay in receiving approval may result in delay in completion of the Service.

No estimate shall be construed as an unconditional guarantee that no additional repair or expense will arise where previously undiscoverable defects or technical issues are subsequently identified.

7. Customer Responsibilities

The Customer shall:

  1. Provide accurate and complete information concerning the Vehicle;
  2. Inform us of known defects, accidents, modifications, repairs or recurring problems;
  3. Provide valid contact information;
  4. Obtain any necessary authority or permission to present the Vehicle for service;
  5. Remove or secure personal valuables from the Vehicle before handing it over for service;
  6. Inform us of any special instructions or safety concerns;
  7. Respond to requests for approval or clarification within a reasonable time; and
  8. Make payment in accordance with the agreed terms.

The Customer represents that he, she or it is the owner of the Vehicle or is duly authorised by the owner to request and approve the relevant Products and Services.

Hassonjee Automotives shall not be responsible for any dispute between the Customer and the actual owner of the Vehicle regarding authority to repair, service or otherwise deal with the Vehicle.

8. Personal Belongings and Valuables

Customers are strongly advised to remove cash, jewellery, documents, electronic devices, valuables and other personal belongings from the Vehicle before handing it over.

Hassonjee Automotives shall not ordinarily be responsible for loss of personal belongings left inside a Vehicle, except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

The Customer should promptly notify us if any valuable or sensitive item must necessarily remain in the Vehicle.

9. Vehicle Inspection and Testing

For diagnosis, repair, inspection, alignment, balancing or quality verification, it may be reasonably necessary for authorised personnel to:

  • start the Vehicle;
  • move the Vehicle within the service premises;
  • conduct diagnostic testing;
  • operate the Vehicle;
  • conduct a limited road test, where reasonably necessary and lawful; or
  • use testing and diagnostic equipment.

By authorising the relevant Service, the Customer authorises such reasonable activities to the extent necessary for performing or verifying the Service.

The Customer must inform us of any known condition that could make the Vehicle unsafe to operate or test.

10. Products, Parts and Availability

The availability of Products and spare parts is subject to:

  • stock availability;
  • supplier availability;
  • compatibility with the Vehicle;
  • technical requirements;
  • discontinuation or modification by manufacturers; and
  • other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Product images, descriptions and specifications displayed on the Website are for general informational purposes and may differ from the actual Product depending upon the model, batch, manufacturer specifications or technical updates.

We reserve the right to substitute an equivalent or compatible Product only with appropriate approval where such approval is reasonably required.

11. Pricing and Payment

The Customer shall make payment in accordance with the payment terms communicated by Hassonjee Automotives.

In accordance with applicable law, Hassonjee Automotives shall exercise a particular lien over the Vehicle, parts, or accessories in its custody until all outstanding dues (including repair charges, cost of parts, diagnostic fees, and accrued taxes) are settled in full. Where a Vehicle is not collected within 7 days of notification of completion, Hassonjee Automotives reserves the right to levy a reasonable daily storage/parking fee until final delivery.

Hassonjee Automotives may retain possession of a Vehicle, Product or other item lawfully in its custody until outstanding charges are paid, subject to applicable law.

12. Cancellation, Rescheduling and Refunds

Cancellation and refund eligibility may depend upon the nature of the Product or Service, the stage at which the cancellation request is made and whether work has already commenced.

In particular:

  1. A Customer may request cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment by contacting Hassonjee Automotives;
  2. Cancellation after commencement of work may result in charges for labour, inspection, diagnostics, materials or work already completed;
  3. Special-order or specifically procured Products may be subject to separate cancellation or return conditions;
  4. Installed, used or damaged Products may not be eligible for return, subject to applicable law and any applicable manufacturer warranty;
  5. Refunds, where applicable, shall be processed after verification of the relevant transaction and circumstances.

Nothing in this clause shall limit any statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a Customer requests vehicle inspection or dismantling for diagnostic purposes and subsequently declines the repair estimate, standard inspection, diagnostic, and reassembly charges (where applicable) shall remain payable before release of the Vehicle.

13. Warranty and Manufacturer Warranties

Certain Products supplied by Hassonjee Automotives may carry a manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty.

The terms, duration, exclusions and procedure for making a warranty claim shall generally be governed by the applicable manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty policy.

Hassonjee Automotives may assist the Customer with warranty-related processes where appropriate, but shall not be responsible for an independent manufacturer’s decision to accept or reject a warranty claim.

Any warranty relating specifically to workmanship or Services, if offered, shall be subject to the terms communicated by Hassonjee Automotives for the relevant Service.

Normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, improper maintenance, unauthorised modifications or use contrary to manufacturer recommendations may affect warranty eligibility.

14. Vehicle Condition and Pre-Existing Defects

Hassonjee Automotives shall not be responsible for pre-existing defects, deterioration, hidden damage, corrosion, mechanical failure, electrical failure or other conditions that existed before the Vehicle was handed over or that become apparent during inspection or repair.

Where a Vehicle contains aged, damaged, modified, poorly repaired or deteriorated components, repair work on one component may expose or reveal other existing defects.

The Customer acknowledges that automotive diagnosis and repair may involve uncovering conditions that could not reasonably have been identified before commencement of the relevant work.

15. Car Washing, Detailing, Coatings and Cosmetic Services

Vehicle washing, polishing, detailing, ceramic coating, graphene coating, protective films and other cosmetic or protective treatments are dependent upon several factors, including:

  • the pre-existing condition of the Vehicle;
  • age and condition of paint;
  • prior repairs or repainting;
  • scratches, dents or corrosion;
  • environmental conditions;
  • maintenance after completion; and
  • the Customer’s use of the Vehicle.

The Customer acknowledges that cosmetic and protective Services cannot necessarily restore a Vehicle to a brand-new or factory-original condition. Results may vary depending on the Vehicle’s existing condition.

Any estimated durability, shine, protection or performance of a coating or treatment may be subject to the applicable product specifications, maintenance requirements and environmental conditions.

16. Tyres, Batteries and Other Automotive Products

The suitability and performance of tyres, batteries and other automotive Products depend upon proper installation, Vehicle compatibility, driving conditions, maintenance and use.

The Customer is responsible for following manufacturer recommendations regarding:

  • tyre pressure;
  • tyre rotation;
  • wheel alignment;
  • load limits;
  • battery maintenance;
  • charging requirements; and
  • other applicable safety and maintenance instructions.

Manufacturer warranties, where applicable, shall remain subject to their specific terms and conditions.

17. Electric Vehicles and Electric Scooters
